Blue Tits in Emersons Green, Bristol

22nd - 24th April 2005

24nd April 2005 The female struggles with a large feather that she has brought into the nest. The male follows shortly after to feed her.
23nd April 2005 The male continues to feed the female while she concentrates on building the nest. She is quite plump now. The nest is about 2.5 inches deep and has a cup shaped depression towards the back corner, furthest from the entrance hole. The adult birds are a little out of focus now, as the nest has brought them closer to the camera. Hopefully the camera will be sharply focussed on the eggs when these are laid.
22nd April 2005 Perhaps a little bit more nest shaped, but the question we are all asking, is when will the first egg appear? I imagine it can't be too far away.
